Chapter 1: The Curse.
In a small village in the Brazilian countryside, there lived a young girl named Isabel. She was kind, curious, and loved exploring the forest around the village. But like any curious child, she sometimes ignored the warnings of the elders.
One day, a wise old woman in the village said, “Never put a saddle on an enchanted horse that appears alone in the forest. It may be a magical creature and cause great trouble!” But Isabel, fascinated by adventures, thought it was just a story.
One night, while walking through the woods, she found |a beautiful, gleaming black horse|. Enchanted, she took a saddle she was carrying and placed it on the animal. |Instantly, a strong wind blew|, and a magical light surrounded Isabel. When she realized it, she was no longer a girl: she had transformed into a headless mule that |breathed fire from its neck|!
The curse had begun.
Chapter 2: The Beast’s Despair.
That same night, the village was filled with the sound of |heavy hooves pounding the ground|. The villagers came out of their homes, frightened, and saw the terrible headless mule running aimlessly, |spewing fire and knocking down fences| along the way.
The elders recognized the creature from the legend and knew that someone had broken a magical rule. Some tried to calm it with kind words, while others ran to hide. But the mule was terrified and couldn’t stop.
An old woman named Dona Carminda said, “To break this curse, someone must have the courage to use an enchanted ribbon to catch the creature and calm it!”
Everyone listened in silence, but who would dare to face the flaming beast?
Chapter 3: The Challenge of Young Joaquim.
Joaquim, a brave boy from the village and Isabel’s friend, decided that he would help her. He took a blue ribbon that his grandmother, Dona Carminda, had given him and set out in search of the enchanted mule.
He followed the burnt tracks on the ground until he found it in a clearing under the moonlight. The mule |made a very loud noise|, scared and out of control. Calmly, Joaquim approached, and when he had the chance, he threw the ribbon around the creature’s flaming neck.
At that moment, the mule stopped running. |Its breathing began to calm|, and the flames began to fade. The |magical light shone once more|, and in the place of the mule, Isabel appeared, lying on the ground, human again.
Chapter 4: A New Chance.
When Isabel opened her eyes, she saw Joaquim smiling at her. “Are you okay?” he asked. Isabel, still shaken, realized she was saved.
The two returned to the village, |where everyone celebrated with joy|. The old woman explained that to prevent the curse from returning, Isabel must never put a saddle on an unknown horse again. She learned her lesson and promised to respect the elders’ warnings from then on.
From that day on, Isabel became a great storyteller, always teaching children the importance of listening and respecting magical rules. But they say that on full moon nights, |the sound of distant hooves| can still be heard in the forest... Has the legend really ended?
And so, the story of the Headless Mule continues to be told for generations.
