Chapter 1: Noah Builds the Ark.
Long ago, a kind man named Noah loved God with all his heart. One day God said to him, "A great flood is coming. Build a strong ark, and keep your family and the animals safe." Noah listened carefully and began to work the very next morning. |Noah chopped the tall cedars| in the warm sunshine, while his three sons gathered the heavy beams.
Day after day, the whole family built the enormous boat. Noah |hammered the iron nails tight|, and the wooden walls grew taller and stronger. The neighbors laughed and pointed, but Noah only smiled and kept on working. |Footsteps echoed on the deck| while he brushed sticky tar inside and out, exactly as God had asked.
Chapter 2: The Animals Come Two by Two.
When the ark was ready at last, God sent the animals from every land. |Two by two the animals| walked up the long wooden ramp, big ones and small ones, tall ones and tiny ones. |A great lion roared gently| as it passed, and Noah welcomed every creature with a kind and friendly word.
The elephants stamped, the monkeys chattered, and |the woolly sheep bleated softly| near the door. Birds of every color filled the air above their heads. Noah counted them all, gave them fresh hay and cool water, and made warm beds of golden straw. Soon the ark was full of life, cozy and safe.
Chapter 3: The Great Rain.
Then the sky turned grey, and the very first raindrops began to fall. |Heavy rain poured from the| clouds for forty days and forty nights. High above the dark clouds, |thunder rumbled across the sky|, but inside the ark everyone felt warm, dry, and safe. Noah told gentle stories while the tired animals listened quietly.
The water rose higher and higher, covering the hills and the tallest trees. |Great waves lifted the ark| up toward the clouds, yet it floated steadily across the wide grey sea. Noah trusted God completely, and his family was not afraid. They sang soft songs together while the storm rolled on outside.
Chapter 4: The Rainbow Promise.
At last the rain stopped, and the golden sun peeked through the clouds. Noah opened a little window, and |a white dove flew out| to search for dry land. The first time it came back with nothing, but the second time it carried a fresh green leaf in its beak.
Soon the ark came to rest upon a mountain, and the happy animals hurried out onto the warm grass. |Birds chirped over green hills| as every creature stepped into the sunshine. Then a beautiful rainbow stretched across the sky, and |gentle harp music played softly| over the valley. "This is my promise," said God. "I will always care for you." Noah and his family gave thanks with joyful hearts.
